Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of MyHealthcare Social (“MyHealthcare Social”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the site, you agree to them.

1. What MyHealthcare Social is today

MyHealthcare Social is in development. Right now members can sign in with Google, post stories and photos, comment and like, fill in a profile, make friends, feature a Top 8, sign guestbooks, nominate member spotlights (shown only if the featured member accepts), follow other members, tag posts with hashtags and browse trending topics, send private messages and bulletins, talk in the live chat room (where messages and photos vanish after 24 hours; private messages and snaps vanish after 24 hours too), exchange slow-post pen-pal letters (private, delivered after about 12 hours), invite friends with personal links, create and join groups, post events and invite friends to them, organize photos into shared albums, host photo contests and vote for the best photo (contest votes also crown a daily photo of the day), share poems in the poetry corner, swap recipes in the recipes corner, read together in book clubs, host movie nights and watch trailers together, sing together on karaoke nights (the stage is a live audio room; YouTube's player loads only after you press play), compete in trivia nights (quiz rounds with a live leaderboard), play chess and checkers in board game clubs (correspondence-style games between members, with club standings), solve shared jigsaws in puzzle clubs (made from a member's photo; everyone places pieces and the finished picture joins the club gallery), share camera tips in photography clubs (an uploaded example photo can prefill its camera settings from the picture — location data is always stripped, never shared), cook together in cooking clubs (a shared cookbook of corner recipes, and cook-alongs where members post photos of their attempts), grow together in gardening clubs (each plant is a photo diary from seedling to harvest, cheered on by clubmates), share trails in hiking clubs and log runs and rides in running and cycling clubs (in all of them, a GPS track is parsed in your own browser and only a simplified map line is stored — never the file; trim tracks that reveal your home before uploading), play games, put a song and a color on their profile, watch member videos (publishing channels and one-minute videos is a privilege the owner grants), talk in live audio rooms (your voice travels directly between browsers over encrypted WebRTC and is never recorded or stored by the site), block other members, and report content to the moderators. More will come, and features may change while the site is being built.
These terms will be expanded as the site gains features.

2. Who may use MyHealthcare Social, and signing in

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use MyHealthcare Social. By signing in you represent and confirm that you are 18 or older. We remove accounts that we learn belong to anyone under 18.
You need a Google account to sign in, and you are responsible for activity that happens through your account.
Google sign-in is the only way in, and it is used to authenticate you securely — MyHealthcare Social never stores a password for you. We request only the openid email profile scopes.
Google does not disclose your age or date of birth to us, so signing in with Google does not verify your age; the age requirement is met by your own confirmation above.
Accounts carry a role that sets what you can do on the site. We may change a role, or suspend or remove an account, at our discretion.

3. Your content

Stories and photos you post remain yours. By posting them you give MyHealthcare Social permission to store them and show them to other members, which is what the service is for. This permission ends when the content or your account is deleted.
Only post what you have the right to share — your own photos, words, and music, or material you have permission to use. This applies especially to your profile song: upload only audio you own or are licensed to share.
Photos are re-encoded on upload (location and camera metadata are stripped); posts and photos are visible to signed-in members.
Deleting one of your posts removes it and its photos permanently.

4. Deleting your account

You can request permanent deletion of your account and its data at any time from your account page. You are signed out immediately and the account is disabled; the deletion itself runs in a nightly cleanup job, which removes your account record, your posts and photos, your private messages (both sides of every conversation), your friendships and blocks, your sessions and settings, and purges your sign-in audit rows, leaving only an anonymised marker.
Deletion cannot be undone, and the same Google account cannot register again for 1 month after requesting deletion. After that month you are welcome back — signing in creates a fresh account.

5. Community rules and moderation

Treat other members decently. Harassment, bullying, hate, threats, spam, and sexually explicit or unlawful content are not allowed.
You can block any member (you will no longer see each other on the site) and report any post or member to the moderators.
Moderators may remove content and suspend or ban accounts, at their discretion, to keep MyHealthcare Social safe and pleasant. Moderation actions are logged.
The same rules apply in private messages and in the live chat. Blocking a member stops their messages entirely and hides you from each other in the chat, and you can report a member (or a chat message) to the moderators.
Don't attempt to break, overload, probe, or gain unauthorised access to the service or to other members' accounts.
Don't use MyHealthcare Social for unlawful purposes, and don't scrape it or abuse it with automated tools.

6. The service, and its limits

MyHealthcare Social is provided free of charge, “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind.
Because the site is in development it may change, break, be interrupted, or be discontinued at any time — including the removal of accounts and data. Do not rely on MyHealthcare Social to store anything you cannot afford to lose.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MyHealthcare Social and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the “last updated” date above changes when we do. Continuing to use MyHealthcare Social after a change means you accept the updated terms.
